There are only about 500 Painted Wolves (commonly called Wild Dogs) in the Greater Kruger Area. Just being able to see them is a rare and special thing. Getting a good photo of them is quite another. Though poachers are looking to catch antelope, Painted Wolves end up in snares more often and their numbers have greatly decreased because of it.
